Mela 2026: Vibrant culture festival of India, Sri Lanka and Nepal

 

Milemir and the Belarusian State Medical University are proud to support the main cultural event of this spring, the Mela 2026!

We invite you to embark on an unforgettable journey through the colors, tastes and rhythms of South Asia. On March 27, 2026, the traditions of India, Sri Lanka and Nepal will meet at the Belarusian State Medical University to give guests a holiday of unity and friendship.

What is Mela?

Mela means “fair” or “celebration” in Hindi. But this year in Minsk, this concept takes on a new meaning. It is a bridge between cultures where everyone can not only see, but also feel the soul of the East.

The organizers have prepared a rich program that will be interesting for both students, families with children and anyone interested in world culture.

Festival program: from Holi colors to spicy treats

The grand opening and the official part

The festival will begin with welcoming remarks by honorary guests: Rector of the University Sergey Rubnikovich, representatives of the Embassy of India, Consul of Sri Lanka Dmitry Ruzhanov and the management of the Milemir company. Guests will be able to personally communicate with the organizers and learn about plans for international cooperation.

A grand concert

The festival stage will turn into a kaleidoscope of genres:

  • Dancing: From the rousing number “Holi” performed by Sapna Group to the classical grace of Natya Tarangini and modern rhythms of Bollywood Beats.
  • Theater: The dramatic production of “The Wrath of the Lord” will make the audience experience the story of faith and destiny.
  • Vocals: Soulful melodies from India and Sri Lanka will create a chamber, warm atmosphere.
  • Final chord: Sri Lankan Fusion Group “Synchronize” will present a unique show fusing tradition and modernity.

Immersion in culture

After the concert, guests will enjoy a real feast of taste! Tasting of the national cuisine will allow you to taste rare spices and dishes prepared according to authentic recipes.

The evening will end with an intercultural student disco, where music from different countries will unite everyone in a single dance rhythm.
